Christmas Day 2008

Merry Christmas!!! Christmas was a great day this year!! The girls must have been very good because Santa brought them lots and lots of presents!! Loren got a doll that goes potty, a crawling pony, littlest pet shops, new boots, games, etc. Kaylynn got lots of little people, a doll, clothes, etc. After all the morning chaos was over, we went to the Wood house to celebrate with the "Harmon" family (my mom's side)! There were about 33 people there and we ate and ate and ate some very delicious food!!! We then opened presents, which was just crazy with that many people!!! But it was a lot of fun and so nice to spend it with family!!

Christmas Eve 2008

On Christmas Eve we went to Peggy's for our annual tradition of drinking with friends! It's always fun and the girls get to run around the bar!! Afterwards we went back to Booma and Boompa's house with Grandma Popp for a yummy dinner of baked mostaccoli, salad, and bread!! The girls then got to open some presents, which the enjoyed!!! We didn't stay too late though because we had to get home and get to bed so Santa could come!!

Cookies and Snow!

Today the girls and I made our Christmas cookies for Santa!! They did a great job cutting them and decorating them! It made a big mess, but that was half the fun!! Kaylynn enjoyed eating most of her cookies once the decorated them!! Then in the evening, we went outside and played in the snow (we have over a foot of snow on the ground right now with some really deep drifts)!! Kaylynn doesn't last long outside, but Loren enjoyed it very much!!

Indy Christmas 2008

The weekend of December 19-20 we loaded up the van, grabbed mom and dad and headed down to celebrate Christmas with Amy and Chris in Indy! We arrived late Friday night and the kids fell asleep about 30 minutes from Amy's house (which is typical). They stayed asleep and everyone got a good rest! Saturday morning we got up and the "girls" all went to the Indy Children's Museum while the "men" went out to lunch and to the Butler basketball game. At the museum they had a big "winter wonderland" set up with a slide going down a stairwell and a Santa!! The girls got to see Santa, which Kaylynn did NOT like, but Loren enjoyed!! Then they played a ton!! We all met up that evening for dinner then went to look at some Christmas lights before going back to Amy's to open presents!! The pajamas Amy and I got were the best ones yet (see pictures below)! The girls got lots of new clothes and toys from Booma and Amy!! Once the girls were in bed, the adults played a fun game of Seinfeld Scene-it (where Joe and I kicked butt)!! We were sad to leave Sunday, but it was a lot of fun celebrating Christmas in Indy!!

Christmas routine at dance

Today Loren's dance class performed the Christmas routine they have been working on!! It was nice to be able to actually see Loren dance and see what she's learned and able to do! Below are some pictures and video of her class parading through the lobby then the dance routine!

Today, Loren's preschool had their Christmas songfest! They sang a bunch of Christmas songs to us! It was really cute!!! Kaylynn even got into it and was able to sing Jingle Bells!! Below are a couple pictures and a bunch of video of the songfest!!

Kaylynn's haircut

Saturday (12/6/08) we took Kaylynn to Cool Cuts 4 Kids and got Kaylynn's haircut. This wasn't her first cut, she had her hair cut in October 2007, so over a year ago. But, to me that cut was a removal of the mullet, and this was her first "real" cut to trim and even out the hair! So I will post pictures!! :)

Mrs. Claus and Santa

On Tuesday December 2nd we went to the library for their annual Mrs. Claus story time! They read books, tell stories and sing songs! We've done this for a few years now and the girls really enjoy it! Especially Loren, Kaylynn isn't so sure about the whole thing yet!

Then on Friday December 5th the girls and I went to Little Village Playplace in AH to see Santa!! The kids got to sit on Santa's lap and talk to him, make Christmas cookies and play! It was a lot of fun!! Kaylynn really wanted nothing to do with sitting on Santa's lap (as you can see in the pictures below), although she was definitely curious about him because she kept walking by him although maybe she was just keeping her eye on him...hmmmmm!
