St. Louis Trip

On April 4-6 we took a trip to St. Louis for Joe's cousin's wedding reception. They got married in Mexico in February and then had a small reception at Dave & Busters. Joe took the day off on Friday and we left in the morning to get down to St. Louis. We got there late afternoon, it took us about 6 and a half hours to get down there with only one stop at a McDonalds in Bloomington! So not too bad! Then we had pizza and went swimming with everyone at the hotel pool before going to bed. We had a nice big king size bed and Kaylynn slept so well in her pack n play, Loren took a while to fall asleep in her little blow up pooh bear bed. But she finally slept!!

Saturday we swam again in the morning then god ready and went to visit my college friend, Alicia and her husband Shaun. We went to lunch at a sandwich place and I got to see Alicia's adorable pregnant belly again!! The girls also got to play with Shaun's German Shepherd police dog, Larry (who is no longer their police dog, they have a new one now). On the way back to the hotel, Kaylynn fell asleep, then refused to nap at the hotel!! Joe's parents had arrived in the afternoon, so we hung out with them a little and then we all got ready for the party and headed to Dave and Busters. Kaylynn fell asleep in Barb's arms not long after we arrived at the party. After a good cat-nap, she was ready to party!! Joe's cousin's husband has a niece who is about 5 or 6 (who didn't really want to play with Loren much) and a friend also had a little girl who as about 5 or 6 (who liked to play with Loren's things), so there were other kids for Loren to "play" with (or watch)!! Mostly Loren LOVED playing all the games! Joe decided she is not allowed to go to Vegas because she'll just spend, spend, spend!!! Barb and Rich took Kaylynn back to the hotel to go to bed and we stayed and played a little more with Loren before heading back to the hotel. Loren fell asleep before returning to the hotel, so she got a little cat nap in and couldn't fall asleep for bed!! She finally slept!!!

Sunday we drove back home. The girls fell asleep right away for about an hour, but were awake the rest of the ride home!! Again it took us about 6 and a half hours with a little stop at a rest stop playground just south of Bloomington.

It was a good trip, nice to see everyone and to celebrate with Melissa and Barry!

Here are a few pictures from the trip:

Kaylynn - 15 months

Kaylynn is now 15 months old! We had her well-baby check up on Thursday 4/3 with a new, local pediatrician! We really liked her and are glad we switched!! She said Kaylynn looks great, is very active, and an all around good girl!! Kaylynn got 2 shots and didn't cry for either of them! The doctor said she had never had a baby not cry for those shots!! Such a tough girl!! Kaylynn is also growing nicely, here are her "stats":

Height: 30 inches (40th percentile)
Weight: 24lbs. 11oz. (77th percentile)
Head Circumference.: 44.5cm (14th percentile)

Kaylynn is slowly starting to talk a little bit! She'll say "meowww" for cat and said "beedee" for her binkies, "dada", and also says "ut-oh" when things fall. She'll still sign a lot of things too, she'll sign milk, more, cheese, daddy, all done, and eat. There may be more, I forget!

We also seem to have a monkey on our hands! Kaylynn is quite the climber!! If we leave a dining room chair not pushed in, she'll climb up and next thing you know, she's standing on the table!! And if the chairs are pushed in, she'll try to pull them out, occasionally being successful, but more often the chair falls on her resulting in tears! She likes to climb on ANYTHING she can, so we always have to keep our eyes open for things she can use as leverage to climb!!

Kaylynn still LOVES her blankie!! She'll pick it up and rest her head on it when she's getting tired! She's also growing more attached to a binky as well, although will still sometimes suck her thumb is no binky is available.

Kaylynn loves to eat cheese, it's her favorite right now! She also greatly enjoys ice cream and Gerber graduates veggie puffs. She drinks a lot of milk (we actually have to keep an eye on how much she drinks because she's on the verge of drinking too much milk)!

Kaylynn is still a really good girl, but is definitely becoming more demanding! She will throw a tantrum if she doesn't get her way! These tantrums are pretty funny to watch because she'll throw her entire body on the floor and stare at you, checking to make sure she has your attention and if she doesn't, she'll get up and do it all over again!! Too funny!!

Here are two pictures of Kaylynn that show her goofy personality:
