Michigan 2008

Last weekend (7/22-7/24) I took the girls to Amy's house and we all then went up to Chris's family's lake house in Coldwater, Michigan. It was a LOT of fun!! The girls thought it was really neat to wake up, put your suit on, and go into the water! Loren (and I) enjoyed watching Guster jump off the pier and swimming in the lake! Kaylynn loved to play with the rocks in the lake! Both girls really enjoyed riding on the sea doo (with Chris because Loren said Mommy went too fast)!! We went for a boat ride, which Loren enjoyed, but Kaylynn just wanted to jump out and go in the water!! We also rode the golf cart around the island and Loren rode her bike too.

One time, Kaylynn had finished her turn on the sea doo and had taken her life jacket off and was up in the yard playing. She then realized that Loren was about to go on the sea doo and wanted to go too!! She grabbed her life jacket, tried to put it on while running to the pier, finally gave up and discarded the life jacket and ran onto the pier yelling her Kaylynn gibberish!!! It was hilarious!!!!

Definitely a fun weekend and we hope to be able to do it again sometime!

Kaylynn 18 months old

So on 6/30 or 7/1 (however you look at it), Kaylynn turned 18 months old! She had her 18 month appointment on 7/2 so I thought I'd update with some Kaylynn stats...

She is 31 3/4 inches tall (54th %tile), 23lbs 10oz (41st %tile) and her head circumference is 47.5cm (77th %tile). She lost some weight since her 15mo. appointment when she weighed over a pound more, but since she had just gotten over pneumonia and had been on a huge food strike (she went weeks without eating, very frustrating).

But the doctor said that Kaylynn looked good and is growing nicely! She's a very physical girl, loves to climb and still puts EVERYTHING in her mouth. At the time of the appointment, she didn't say anything other than "hello" and "daddy". She's now saying more words, including milk (sounds like gilk), juice, eye, and ear. The doctor wants her to be saying at least 15 understandable words by next month, which I think she'll do!

Jim Gill concert in AH

Yesterday the girls and I went into Arlington Heights to see Jim Gill (he's a children's singer and child development specialist). It was a free outside concert in the park and it was a beautiful day!! My friend, Chan, and her kids, Ellie and Carter came with us to the concert. We packed a lunch and sat on blankets and enjoyed ourselves!! The kids really liked the concert, Jim Gill does a good job of getting the kids up and moving!

Then after the concert (which lasted about an hour) we went to Frontier Pool and swam for a few hours. The kids all had a blast and were exhausted by the time we left! Kaylynn was asleep in her car seat before I even got into my seat!
