Loren Ice Skating

On Saturday 9/13/08 I decided it was time to finally take Loren ice skating. She has been asking me to go for a looong time. Since we won 2 free passes from the library for public skate at the crystal ice house, I figured it was time. She was really excited to go and I kind of was too! As most of you know, I ice skated competitively for a good 15 years, so I'm pretty comfortable on the ice!! Loren got out there and had no problems walking or staying on her feet! She actually could kind of skate! But she liked it best when I pushed her around the ice! At one point while trying to skate by herself, she fell. Since I couldn't find all our winter stuff (I had put it all in the attic for the summer), she didn't have any gloves on and the ice hurt her hands and she didn't like that AT ALL!!! So after that, she was kind of done!! I did a few jumps and spins and she thought that was really cool, and then we left. She skated for about 45 minutes, which was pretty good!!!

Loren's first day of 3 year old preschool

On Tuesday 9/2/08, Loren started her second year of preschool (she will go to preschool for 3 years because she misses the cut-off). She is in a 3 year old preschool and goes twice a week, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:15 to 11:45. She seems to like her teachers and knows a few kids in her class from last year!! For the past week, they've been only going for an hour with half the class, but this week starts the full class and full time!! She's happy to be back at school playing with different toys and seeing other kids!! She, again, didn't cry when I left her, so that's always good! I'm looking forward to having some one-on-one time with Kaylynn and going grocery shopping with just one again!!

Loren's first day of dance and gymnastics

On Wednesday 8/27, Loren started her first day of dance class! She really likes it so far (she's had 2 classes)!! She has to wear a pink leotard, white tights and ballet shoes!! She looks so cute when she's wearing them! The dance studio is really neat because the kids go into the dance room and the parents wait out in the waiting room and can watch them on tv! It's nice because Kaylynn often wants to go where Loren is so I don't have to keep trying to keep her out of trouble (on the first day of dance, Kaylynn cried because she wanted to go with Loren)!!

Both Loren and Kaylynn do gymnastics on Fridays!! Loren has been doing it for a year now, but this is Kaylynn's first time! They both really enjoy it (especially my monkey girl, Kaylynn)!! The class Kaylynn is in is actually for 2-3 year olds, but Kaylynn does fairly well in it given that she's a good 6months to a year or more younger than the other kids!
