Olympic Pool Egg Hunt

For the 3rd year, we took the girls to the Olympic Pool egg hunt! It's always a good time, the kids love to collect eggs and then swim afterwards. This year the girls were in two different age groups, Kaylynn's was first and she got a ton of eggs (with a little bit of Mommy's help), and she even won a bigger easter basket! Loren's group was second and she got a decent amount of eggs. At one point I looked at Loren's basket and saw a little boy taking eggs out of her basket! I then yelled at him and took our eggs back!! I get a little crazy when it comes to egg hunts!! After the egg hunts were over, we all got into the pool for some swimming!! Loren went down the slide a bunch of times (it's pretty much all she did). Kaylynn wanted to go down SO badly, but the guards said she couldn't...until they rotated and a new guard was up there who wasn't really paying attention and let her go down! She did just fine and wanted to go again, but this time he wouldn't let her! She then cried and decided she wanted to go home!! All in all, it was a fun evening!

Here are just a few pictures of the egg hunt:

Here is a video from the egg hunt, at the last second of the video, you can see the boy with goggles on about to reach his hand into the basket! If Joe had taken another 10 seconds of video, he would have captured me yelling at the boy then taking our eggs back!!

Peoria

The weekend of March 20-21 we went to Peoria to meet with some of my college friends. There were 10 adults and 8 kids (ages 5 to 5mos)! We met at Avanti's for lunch on Saturday then drove around campus a little bit. Next we quickly went to the outdoor mall and ran in and got a new sweatshirt (it was raining/snowing pretty good)! We all then went back to the hotel and took the kids swimming!! After swimming the kids enjoyed running from room to room (the rooms were all really close, so that was nice). We ordered pizza (Papa John's) for dinner and ate down in the continental breakfast room so the kids could run around and watch tv together. We all then went upstairs and tried to get our kids to bed, once they were all finally asleep (I was lucky, Joe wasn't feeling well, so he stayed in the room with our kids), the girls all played a game and chatted and laughed before calling it a night. The kids slept fairly well at the hotel. Kaylynn fell off the bed once (Loren and Kaylynn move a TON in their sleep) and Eryn woke up twice. Not ideal, but could have been worse!

The next day we went down for breakfast and then took the kids swimming one more time before leaving the hotel. We met again at Avanti's for lunch then headed home. It was a fun weekend and I enjoyed spending time with my good friends!!

Eryn 5 months

Eryn is now 5 months old! She gets bigger and bigger every day! I have no idea how tall she is or how much she weighs, but she is still wearing 3-6 month clothes, but I'm not sure how much longer she'll be in them, many are getting tight on her. She now rolls from her back to her tummy (which she did for the first time on 3/4/10) and from tummy to back (which she did right around 4 months)! If I lay her down on the floor, she'll immediately go to her tummy and then get up on all fours and try to "lunge" forward! She wants to move so badly! She doesn't really like her exersaucer for more than a few minutes at a time, same with her bumbo seat. Her daily routine is still up in the air, depending on where Loren and Kaylynn need to be on that day, but I'm trying to get her to nap better, especially in the afternoons when we are home. She's still a very smiley baby and laughs more and more each day!

Loren and Kaylynn still just LOVE to hold Eryn

Sleeping baby! She normally likes to sleep on her tummy,
but this time she was on her back.

Sleeping! And you can see Kaylynn rubbing her head...
I can't understand why this baby has a hard time napping?!? :)

Loren took this picture of Eryn in her bumbo seat.

St. Patrick's Day 2010

We didn't really do anything too exciting this year for St. Patty's day since our kitchen was to torn up! I did manage to make a corn beef and potatoes! Loren and Kaylynn had Irish week at school where they wore green and learned about the Irish flag. One of Loren's classmates' dad is a bagpiper, so he came in and played for the class! She thought it was really neat, but couldn't figure out why he was wearing a "skirt"! Too funny!!

Here are a couple pictures from St. Patricks day:

Swim Lessons 2010

Loren and Kaylynn are once again taking swim lessons! They LOVE to swim!! Loren is learning the "front crawl" and Kaylynn recently learned to swim with her face in the water! These kids would be in water 24/7 if I let them!

Here are some videos of the kids at swim lessons the other day:

This one is Kaylynn putting her face in the water to "swim" and pick up balls, until she realized I had the camera and then she posed with her awesome goggles:

This is also Kaylynn in the pool, she's creeping along the wall and Loren is actually behind her working on her kicking:

Here is Kaylynn swimming:

Here is Loren swimming the front crawl. She made it all the way across the pool (short ways) by herself, but when I had the video out, of course she didn't do it:

Kaylynn-ism!

Today in the car on the way home from Loren's dance class, Kaylynn was being VERY crabby! I started singing a song "Crabby Kaylynn, crabby Kaylynn", then decided to be silly and say "Crabby Mommy, crabby Mommy" to which Kaylynn screamed "NO! Mommy no crabby...I CRABBY!" Too funny!!!
