Disney!!!!!
A few months ago, Joe and I decided that we would take a trip to Disney and Joe's parents decided to join us!!!! We figured this is probably the last year we would feel comfortable taking the girls (mostly Loren) out of school for a week for this kind of trip! We also decided to keep this trip a secret from the kids! The day we were to leave, we packed up the car (and the girls didn't even notice) and we went to Jeremy's house for lunch then for him to drive us to the airport. It was there we told the girls that we would be going on an airplane to Disney! They didn't believe us at first, Kaylynn even asked me if we were going "for real?!?" It wasn't until we actually got to the airport and on the plane that the kids actually believed we were going to Disney!
We arrived later on Monday 9/20/10 and when we finally got to our resort (we stayed at the Wilderness Cabins), we were all starving! We ordered pizza and waited HOURS for our luggage. As soon as it came (after 11pm), we all got our pajamas on and went to bed!
We woke up on Tuesday and got ready to go to the Contemporary Resort for Chef Mickey! There we got to see Mickey, Minnnie, Donald Duck, Pluto and Goofy. The girls were SO excited to meet the characters! The food was great too! It was a wonderful way to start our trip! Afterwards we went to Magic Kingdom for a while, rode some rides and had some food before going back to the cabin for bed.
Wednesday we went to Epcot. There we had lunch with the Princesses!!! Loren dressed as Cinderella, Kaylynn as Snow White and Eryn as Belle. The girls looked SO cute and were extremely excited to meet the princesses! At lunch we were welcomed by Aurora (Sleeping Beauty). During lunch we got to meet Cinderella, Ariel, Snow White, and Jasmine!! Each time a princess came over, the girls couldn't contain their happiness! It really was priceless! After lunch we explored Epcot some more. Got stuck for 20 minutes on a boat ride (which was rather funny actually). And got to meet Belle and the Beast! We stayed and watched the fireworks before going back to the cabin for bed!
Thursday we went to the pool in the morning. Loren and Kaylynn enjoyed the pool because they could both go down the big slide by themselves! Grandma and Grandpa stayed in the cabin with Eryn so she could take a nap. After the pool we went back to Magic Kingdom for more rides and fun. We made it an earlier night and went back to the resort and let the girls play on the beach for a while. We then ate dinner at the resort and Grandma and Grandpa took Eryn back to the cabin for bed while Joe, Loren, Kaylynn and I stayed at the beach and watched the Magic Kingdom fireworks (we could see them from the beach at the resort) and then the water lights parade!
Friday was our last full day at Disney! So again we went to the pool in the morning then headed to Magic Kingdom. Joe, Loren, Kaylyn, Eryn and I waited in line to meet some of the fairies while Grandma and Grandpa explored. We got to meet three fairies (Iridessa, Fawn and Vidia). Eyrn slept through the fairies, but Loren and Kaylynn likes meeting them! After that we went outside to find it had started raining. It rained (stormed) on and off the rest of the day, but that didn't stop us from having fun. We went on rides when we could and stayed for the electrical parade that night! Loren and I were the only ones who actually watched it (everyone else got dinner), but I'm glad we watched the parade! Loren really enjoyed it and took some really good pictures of it! After the parade we went back to the cabin to get ready for bed and to leave early in the morning.
Saturday we woke up at 4am to get everything ready to go. We left our cabin at 5am for our 8:00 flight. It was a fairly good flight...Loren and Kaylynn both napped, but Eryn was wide awake during the entire flight. And it's not easy to keep an 11 month old amused on a plane! But she was pretty good and hopefully nobody was too annoyed with us!
We were all happy to be back home (and to a 30 degree temperature difference)! It was a great trip that I hope we are able to do again in the future!
Loren's favorite part: "Riding on Splash Mountain and when I had my arms up and Mommy had her eyes closed and was holding on! I also liked Space Mountain."
Kaylynn's favorite part: "Princess and the frog when he made my frogs kiss" (She got two kissing frogs from the movie on Friday just before we happened to see Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen and she was so excited to show them her frogs)
Here are just a few pictures from our trip:
