Kaylynn - 8 months old!

Kaylynn is now 8 months old! I can't believe how fast it's going and how big she's getting!! I don't know how much she weighs or how tall she is, but she's wearing mostly 12 month clothes (some 9 month stuff still fits). She doesn't have any teeth yet (which is nice)!! This past month she continued to improve her crawling and cruising stills (getting fast now)! She also is eating more baby food and started eating some "puffs"! She loves her puffs!! She also learned how to wave hello and bye-bye! She is getting to be such a big girl! Kaylynn loves playing with her sister's toys (and her sister does not like that at all)!! She goes to sleep well on her own, but still wakes up to eat at night once or twice. But all-in-all she's a very good girl!

Here are some pictures of Kaylynn:

Milwaukee Irish Fest 2007

This weekend was the Irish Fest in Milwaukee, WI. Another FUN time!! Friday night was beautiful, it was just Mom, Dad, Amy, Chris, Joe and me. We dropped the girls off at Joe's parents house and got up there and into the park a little after 4 and enjoyed a few drinks before watching the Makem Brothers. We then went over and watched the Tommy Makem tribute. I never thought I'd cry, but it was sad to thing that he is no longer with us! It was a beautifully done tribute to such a wonderful man!! Then we continued to "Drink the night away" and watched Gaelic Storm. Then went back to the hotel and called it a night!

Saturday was cool and rainy, but that didn't stop us! Mom and dad went to the park early, while Amy, Chris, Joe and I went to Rock Bottom for lunch. We then needed to find gas and apparently ended up in a ghetto where we got pulled over! The cop "escorted" us out of the "bad" area and all was well!! When we finally got to the park a little after 4, the Woods were already there and mom and dad had started their shift serving beer. We, again, enjoyed good music under umbrellas (and sometimes not under umbrellas) and managed to stay until the park closed, despite the rain!! We took a cab back to the hotel to find the Makem Brothers and a few other singers doing a wonderful "jam session". Mom and Amy went back to the hotel room earlier, but Dad, Chris, Joe and I stayed up until 4:30am!! Yikes!!! It was fun though!!

Some party-poopers didn't join us this year (Tony, Jeremy, Jason), but most of us returned despite the rain, and we even had some "newbies" (Zach and Meghan). It was a wonderful weekend away hanging out with family and friends!! I hope it happens again next year with even more family and friends!!

A few funny quotes from the weekend:

"Are you guys lost?!? You're in a bad area!"

"Boob scratcher"

"He's drinking it! He's drinking the Purple Haze!!"

"A Guinness from every crevice"

Here are a few pictures:

Kaylynn, 7 months

Kaylynn is now 7 months old!! She is growing so fast! She crawls like a champ and enjoys getting into all Loren's toys (the sibling fighting has begun)!! She also pulls herself to standing and is trying to cruise on the furniture!! I think this girl will be running after Loren in no time! Kaylynn is also eating rice cereal and oatmeal as well as some fruits and veggies. She's still not a huge fan on solids, but slowly she's getting used to them!!

Here are a few pictures:

Algonquin Founder's Day

On Sunday July 29th I took the girls to Founder's Day in Algonquin with our neighbor Joy and her daughter Addy (who is also one of Loren's best friends). Loren and Addy got to pet zoo animals and give them food, play in a firetruck, and go on all sorts of rides! Kaylynn enjoyed watching Loren and Addy spin around on the strawberry ride and go round and round in the cars, and even go way high in a fast ferris wheel!! It was a fun (and very warm) day!!

Here are a few pictures:

Pennellwood 2007

A few weeks ago our family took our first vacation! We went with my parents to Pennellwood Resort in Berrien Springs, Michigan. We saw friends we haven't seen for a long time! We all stayed in one cabin (it was a tight squeeze, but it worked)! Loren loved playing at the park and swimming in the pool! Kaylynn just enjoyed watching people, sleeping in the pool, and being outside!! It was definitely a learning experience, like we learned not to try to force Loren to sleep, just wait until she passes out (she was up until 2am one night)! But all in all it was lots of fun and look forward to hopefully being able to go again next year!

Here are a few pictures (my mom has more on her camera that I'll try to add later):
