Pirate's Cove

On Wednesday 7/29/09 the girls and I went to Pirate's Cove with Joe's mom. I had never been there before and it's a really cute place! It's a fairly small place with a couple little rides for littler kids. Just enough for the girls to be amused! They had a little merry-go-round, a rock climbing wall (that Loren LOVED), a park, a train, a bounce house, a little train they had to use their hands to "pedal", a big slide, and little paddle boats. Loren really liked climbing the rock wall, she did really well too, but her small hands just couldn't get a good grip onto the bigger rocks. She got about halfway up though, which was impressive!! She was by far the smallest person trying to climb, but wasn't afraid at all!! Kaylynn liked the merry-go-round the best! She got to ride on the "rosey" (aka - horsey)!! It was a fun day!!

Loren's 4 1/2 year old physical

We're a little off on Loren's physical routine since she's been in school for a couple years so the timing was off! She had her most recent school physical yesterday. She had to go potty in a cup, which, thanks to the OB appointments she's been coming to with me, she was very excited about! The doctor said she looks great! She's 44 1/4 inches tall (90th percentile), weighs 39.2 pounds (55th percentile), and her BMI is 14.07 (15th percentile). So basically she's tall and skinny! She also got 4 shots (DTaP, Polio, Chickenpox, and MMR). She did NOT like that one bit!! She cried, but when the doctor said she could get a prize from the treasure chest, she calmed down!! All in all, she's a normal healthy girl!!

27 weeks

This morning I had my 27 week check-up at the OB office. I had the glucose test as well. Hopefully I passed that! It's not horrible to drink, just don't want to have to do it again anytime soon! :) They did an ultrasound to check on the placenta and the previa is gone. It moved up with the uterus, which is what they expected to happen. So that's good. Baby is still breach, but there's still lots of time to turn. I gained a few pounds, up to 152 now. Baby's heart rate was 148 and my blood pressure was 100/60. All perfectly normal. Then she measured my uterus, and I'm measuring 30 weeks!! The doctor's exact words were "Wow, you're HUGE!!" Guess that explains why I FEEL huge too! But, the past few weeks I've been feeling really dizzy almost to the point of passing out for hours at a time (it's really annoying because I almost can't function), it doesn't happen every day, but when it does it's very frustrating. So she wants me to come back in 2 weeks to check my heart and such just to make sure. I'm sure everything is fine, she's just being cautious! But, baby seems to be doing just fine. During the ultrasound she was sleeping (go figure, I swear this kid is kicking me all the time, except during the ultrasounds)!! The tech tried to get me some good pictures, but the baby's arm was up by her head, so they're not the best (and she couldn't get a good 3D shot because of her arm in the way), but that's ok! Loren liked seeing the baby again and really enjoys feeling the baby move, she calls it "her" baby or "our" baby!! It's cute!! And Kaylynn still has a baby in her tummy as well, but she says hers is a boy!!

Kaylynn...Potty Trained!?!?

So after about a month of "pants less Kaylynn" we finally decided to just do the undies and for the past 2 weeks Kaylynn has been wearing underpants all day and has been DRY!!!! She got to pick out her new Minnie Mouse underpants and everything! She only had one accident in these 2 weeks (but I don't really consider it an accident because she was in the bathroom at a friend's house trying to get their stool out but couldn't get it out in time)!! She stayed dry our entire time in Indy and everything!!! She'll even just to into the bathroom and go herself without help (unless she can't get her pants off). She's been doing so well!! I'm so proud of her!! She still wears a pull-up at nap at bed times, but she's doing so well during the day!! Yay Kaylynn!!!!

Crystal Lake Beach and Our Trip to Indy

On Monday 7/13/09 the girls and I went to the Crystal Lake beach and met some of mommy's former co-workers and friends from St. James there with their kids! The girls had a LOT of fun playing in the sand and in the water (which was a bit cold)!! We had a yummy picnic lunch and enjoyed playing with our friends! Here are some pictures from the beach:

On Tuesday 7/14/09 the girls and I took a road trip to visit Amy and Chris!! It took us about 5 hours to get down there (plus a stop at a McD's on the way)!! Tuesday we went to Amy's neighborhood pool for a while then went out to dinner at Fazolli's and had Dairy Queen for dessert! Yummy!! Wednesday it rained, so we went to Monkey Joe's (a jump house)! It was SO cool!! I wanted to jump sooo badly!! The kids had a blast there!!!! Then we went home for some "quiet time" and went to Moe's (a Mexican restaurant) for dinner!! Thursday we again went to Amy's neighborhood pool! The girls' lack of sleep was finally catching up with them, so we didn't stay at the pool long! We went back to Amy's for some good "quiet time", then had a yummy dinner at their house. After that we went to the park and back to Amy's for a movie night. Friday we drove home, which was a veeery long drive (6 hours)! But all in all it was a good trip!!!! Here are a couple pictures:

Irish American Heritage Center Irish Fest 2009

Sunday 7/12/09 we went to the IAHC for their annual Irish fest! We watched the Makem & Spain Brothers as well as Gaelic Storm!! The kids did really well there and danced the night away! Gaelic Storm played Loren's favorite song, Me and The Moon, which she enjoyed!! Below are a few pictures and videos!

Jim Gill 2009

On Tuesday July 7th we went into AH to a Jim Gill concert at North School park! The Tosh's met us there with some of their friends and we all had a great time! As always he put on a good show, and the kids all enjoyed dancing to his fun songs!! Below are a few pictures and short videos of the kids dancing, Kaylynn kept coming up to the camera asking to "see"! It was kind of annoying, but there are a few good ones of the kids dancing!

4th of July 2009

This year, the 4th of July weekend was very busy!! It started on Thursday the 2nd when we went to Frontier Days to see Blues Traveler with Tony and Maggie, Booma/Boompa and the Grandziels. The concert wasn't that good and the festival was VERY crowded. But the company was good and the kids enjoyed going on the rides!

We then stayed over at my parents house that night and went to the track the next day. We met up with the Tosh's, all the Woods, and the Grandziels, for a total of about 25 people!! The track was also VERY crowded, but it was a lot of fun! The girls enjoyed playing with their "cousins" and dancing to the music and watching the horses run!! We also stayed to watch the fireworks!! It was probably one of the best fireworks displays that I have ever seen!! They did it to music and it lasted a very long time!! Loren LOVED it and Kaylynn fell asleep!! We finally got home a little before midnight!! Long day!!!

On Saturday the 4th we went over to the Woods house for a bbq and some swimming. The weather wasn't the best, but that didn't stop us from having fun in the pool!! It was another long day, but lots of fun!

Sunday the 5th we hung out at home, then went to see the CL fireworks at a local middle school with our neighbors Joy, Will and Addy. Despite the bugs, the fireworks were fun to see!! A nice way to end a fun weekend!!!
