Eryn at 8 months...

Eryn's 8th month of life has been very busy!! She's has a couple little colds this month, but nothing too bad. I have absolutely no idea how tall she is or how much she weighs, she goes in next month for her next well baby check! A few things about Eryn this month:

She does NOT like the grass! She will curl her legs up when I put her even near the grass!

She likes the water and does not mind when I put her under in the pool (or when I accidentally let her fall in)!

She LOVES food, any and all kinds of food! She really likes to feed herself the little "puffs" and gets very excited when she sees them!

She says "da da da" and we thought she was trying to say "daddy" but we later realized that we think she's trying to actually say "ma ma"!

She started crawling this month! She started out slow, but quickly got very fast and will crawl all over the house!

She still sucks her two middle fingers on her left hand.

She likes to go to the child care at the health club, she doesn't mind going by herself but likes it most when her sisters go too.

She does not have any teeth yet.

She isn't the best sleeper. She still wakes up 1-2x at night. It's kind of my fault, I let her get away with it, but sometimes 30 minutes of feeding is easier than 1-2 hours of crying it out when I have 2 other kids to deal with!

Here are some pictures of Eryn from her 8th month of life:

I do not like this at all!!!!

Pom's Camp

This year I signed Loren up for a Pom's camp through the park district! It met every day this week from 9am until 11. The kids brought snack and water every day! Loren really enjoyed going to this camp, I would drop her off and she'd walk in all by herself (she felt like such a big girl)! The last day of the camp they stayed until noon then put on a little show with the dances they learned during the week. That day they also had to bring a lunch. Loren has never had to bring a lunch like this anywhere before, so it was her first time. She looked so big carrying her lunch box into the school! After the camp, I looked into her lunch box and realized that she had tried to "save" some things she didn't eat for lunch. She said she might want them later. Some of the things she "saved" were...her capri sun (opened), crackers, some turkey and a carrot. So, you can imagine the disgusting mess I found inside the lunchbox!

The performance they put on was really cute!! They got to use real pom pon's (which Loren thought was VERY cool) and got a shirt to wear! Her teacher also gave each kid a ribbon to wear in their hair, a couple silly bands, candy and a tattoo! She did a great job during the performance (even though another kid took "her" pom pons)! She is already asking to do this camp again next year!!

Here are some picture and video from the performance:

Air/Water Show Videos

I know there's a lot of videos here! Most of them are pretty cool and all of them are short (under 30 seconds). :)

Miwaukee Air/Water Show

Sunday 6/13/10 we decided to drive up to Milwaukee to see their air and water show. We asked our friends, the Smiths, to come too. Luckily they lived in Milwaukee for a few years after they got married, so they knew of a little park to sit at. We ended up sitting a couple blocks away on a nice open grassy area. It was a GREAT place to sit! We could see EVERYTHING and there was plenty of places for the kids to run around and play! We got to see all the various planes, the guys jump out with parachutes, etc. Too bad we all forgot the sunscreen (it was mostly overcast, so we didn't think we needed it)!! Oops!!! Poor Eryn was SO burnt!

After the air/water show we went out to dinner at the Pipe Organ Pizza. It was a really neat place where a guy plays the pipe organ and the kids could dance if they wanted. There was also an arcade that kept them busy! All in all, a fun day! :)

Here are some pictures:

The parachute jumper guys! (I don't really know what they're called)!

Dance Recital 2010

It's the time of year again for the dance recital!! Loren and Kaylynn have been working very hard at their dance classes all year and were SO excited to do their dances on stage! Loren did a Jazz class this year and it fits her perfectly! She likes to be moving all the time! Kaylynn did a beginning dance class (a ballet type of class) and she enjoyed it! It's funny because we got the girls' costumes way back in January and the recital seemed sooo far away, and now here it is, come and gone already! Crazy!

The girls were so very excited for everyone to see their dances on stage! And, despite a little drama from Kaylynn backstage, they came out and did a GREAT job!!! I couldn't have been more proud of my girls!! They each got some flowers then we went out for ice cream afterwards! I also couldn't thank Gail more for watching Eryn for me! :)

Here are some pictures from the rehearsal and from the day of the recital:

Gone fishin'...

Today we took the girls fishing for the first time! It was also my first time fishing as well! The McHenry County Conservation District had a free fishing day with fishing rods for us to use and live bait (worms) and everything! They also supplied donuts, Gatorade, water, granola bars and little snacks for everyone! The girls were REALLY excited to go fishing! Loren has been asking for over a year to go fishing!! We found a little spot to cast out on and a fishin' we were! Loren got the hang of it really quickly! Kaylynn needed a little help to get the fishing rod to cast off. But she was really good at reeling it in (which she did over and over again)!! Loren even broke off a piece of worm and put it on her hook (not gonna lie...I wouldn't even do that)!! We never did catch any fish (our friend's little guy, Carter did though)! We fished for over an hour until it started thundering and raining and we got called in. The girls were kind of bummed we weren't able to catch any fish, but now that we know they like and have some patience for it, we'll do it again!

Pictures from our little fishing outing:

Keylime Cove

Yesterday we took the kids to Keylime Cove water park! It was SO much fun! The girls were VERY excited to go!! Loren is tall enough so she could stand in all the water, which was nice. She also could go down all the water slides by herself, except one, so then an adult could go down with Kaylynn. Loren would just wander off and go down slides herself! Eryn was not so sure about the water, but she was pretty tired since she didn't get a good nap in! She definitely wanted to be held the entire time. Joe's mom came with us to the water park, so we all kind of took turns walking up the stairs to the big water slides with the girls! After a very fun day, the kids were exhausted! They all fell asleep in the car on the way home!!
