Apple Picking and Pumpkin Farm
Sunday 10/3/10 my parents came over so we could go apple picking. Joe stayed home with Eryn since she was running a fever and it was pretty chilly outside. We went to our usual apple orchard, but they had stopped allowing people to pick the apples for the season (apparently there was a late frost in the spring which ruined a lot of the crop). Luckily Joe was home, so we could call him and have him find us another orchard. Which he did, and off we went to the second orchard! We found Lang's Apple Orchard easily and luckily for us, it was their last day of apple picking! There weren't many options to pick (pretty much just 2 kinds), but we were happy to be picking apples! We quickly filled up our bags with delicious apples! And we learned our lesson to go a little earlier in the season next year! It was still a lot of fun, and Boompa enjoyed his first time ever apple picking!
Loren called his the perfect apple

Kaylynn called this her best apple too!

So strong!

Thursday 10/7/10 the kids didn't have school, so we met some friends (the Smiths) at Tom's Farm to play and enjoy the fall activities they have. It wasn't very crowded and the kids got to jump in an inflatable pumpkin, climb through an inflatable train, pet farm animals, play in a silo filled with corn, ride on pedal tractors, and find our way through the corn maze! We spent over 5 hours at the pumpkin farm! I couldn't believe it, but I guess that's a sign of a good time!! Afterwards since it was so nice out (80+ degrees) we went to the new Three Oaks beach in CL and the kids played in the sand and ran through the water splash pad (who'd have thought we'd be able to do this in October)!
All the kids
On top of the big pile of hay!
Eryn was not a fan of the hay touching her

She got so excited to touch the pumpkins!
